Clik here to view. There is a time to fight.
There is a time to sit back and watch.
There is a time to take a stand.
But, the real question is why?
What are we fight for?
What are we taking a stand for?
Do we even know the depth of pain and struggle?
Or are we fighting just to fight?
This past few weeks I have come face to face with my own demons and desires. I have had to look myself in the mirror and ask why are you fighting against “this”? And it only came to me yesterday.
Entitlement.
There are people in this world that think they are entitled.
They believe they need to be repaid because of how someone else was treated.
This lights a fire deep within me.
It ignites a sense of injustice we are dealing with today.
Life is not always fair.
But, we have a choice EVERYDAY to wake and make this world better.
Better NOT more comfortable for ourselves.
We MUST fight injustice but NOT through violence and tearing each other apart.
As a young women in the military I kept fighting for an opportunity to prove myself. At every corner I turned there was another obstacle I had to overcome. I had to fight my way to recognition. I had to fight to be seen for my ability not my gender. I had to fight to get the schools and jobs I wanted. But, I did NOT tear down others as I rose to accomplishments.
This idea that we are entitled to something because of someone else’s pain is absolutely ridiculous.
This idea that we are better than someone else because of someone else’s struggle is insane.
Equality will only come when we begin to treat others as equals NOT less than. We can not change the sins of the past with more sin. We have to choose to be better than those in the past. We have to choose to make smarter more intelligent and loving decisions TODAY!!!
We have a choice to make.
Will be allow ourselves to tear others apart because of the sins of the past or will we be the change we want to see in this world.
I am choosing NOT to punish but to teach, preach and LOVE!!
I will fight for equal rights but I will NOT tear anyone down while attempting to educate and teach others what it means to see people without seeing race, gender or sexuality.
I see LOVE.
I see a rise of acceptance.
I see a world with possibilities.
I see a future filled with little girls running companies without fear of judgment, being The President of the United States of America and making change through education and love.
I see love spreading across the globe.
I see people working together to build a great nation of love.
I can no longer focus on the negative.
I can no longer look back and see how women in the past were treated or even the injustice I have fought. I have to choose to see the hope and light in the future because when we focus on the negative past we will fight for entitlement and NOT equality.
I choose to fight for love.
What are you choosing to fight for today?!
